Other aspects of the mask I am keeping secret as they are part of 8Z Cosplay's wonderful book and would be major spoilers. Our A Link Between Worlds Items guide will detail how to obtain each item in the game. This as hand slip stitched onto the base of the mask and fole dup and into the mask to finish it off and clean it up on the inside. The bottom trim was improvised as it's not part of the pattern but I used the patterns to figure out the shape ad size needed. I can see very well out of this hood/mask. I used cross stitching plastic bases for the blue of the eyes, which were white before I painted them black and blue as per the patterns. The "eye liner" of the mask was appliqued on, and then the cover was glued into place along the base and inside of the mask. The fabric covers were made using the same patterns as the foam but with added seam allowance or darts.
I cut holes where the eyes were to go compared to 8Z Cosplay's which has 3D eyes. The base and ears are made of 6mm EVA foam which I glued together with contact cement and shaped more with my heat gun. Her patterns and instructions are incredibly well done and easy to follow and use. I used the tutorial book and patterns by 8Z Cosplay for making this piece. Each green section is a slightly different shade from each other to make the piece more dynamic. It was primed with black gesso and then painted with several coats of acrylics. It's glued together and I added some raised areas with knock-off foam clay to give it more dimension. The Rupee on the belt is made with EVA foam and the pattern was also made by me.
The back closure ties up with a lace up detail, and there are 8 grommets on the back, all of which were thread covered with red embroidery thread to make them stronger but also fit the over all aesthetic of Ravio better. The lining side is interfaced and was hand stitched to the back of the belt after the piping was applied. I made the pattern from scratch and it does not include any fitting seams and is mostly straight with a few curves, and sixed to my waist measurement. The belt is made out of an upholstery polyester dupioni and some corded piping trim from Fabricland. Just long enough to look long and exaggerated without dragging on the ground and getting dirty. The finished scarf is about 120 inches long.
The scarf is made up of 30 fleece rectangles, with 15 of each colour.
I used my serger to sew this piece together so that the seams would not tear out if stretched. This was to help create an illusion with the finished garment so my feminine curves would be less apparent, compared to if the upper half and lower half were the same exact width. I cut it off at the waistline and then made a "skirt portion" which was approximately 4" wider than the top half. I wanted to avoid using closures and wanted this to have ease of movement and wanted it to fit in case of weight fluctuations.įor the pattern of the robe I used a sweater in my closet with the desired loose and relaxed fit I wanted and used the "knock off" method to make the patterns. Originally this project was intended to be made for Hyrule Hideout's Haunted Special but unfortunately could not be finished in time due to machine malfunctions, but I still made it anyways.Īll purple sections of the costume are made from a lovely lightweight jersey knit- t-shirt fabric.
This costume was made in early October of 2021, in the span of two weeks between my full time job.
